Anthem

A dystopian novella set in a collectivist totalitarian society where individuality is erased. Protagonist Equality 7-2521 discovers electricity in a hidden ancient tunnel, falls in love with Liberty 5-3000, yet his scientific breakthrough is rejected by collective scholars. He flees the city into an uncharted forest, finds an old pre-collectivist house, and rediscovers the sacred word "I", embracing individual freedom and rejecting the all-powerful collective "we".
