Aucassin and Nicolete

A medieval French cante-fable mixing prose and verse, telling the love story between noble youth Aucassin and captive Saracen maiden Nicolete. They face family opposition, imprisonment, separation, sea perils and bizarre adventures in the absurd kingdom of Torelore, and finally reunite and marry after Nicolete recovers her royal Carthage identity.
