The Fall of the House of Usher follows an unnamed narrator who visits his childhood friend, Roderick Usher, after receiving a desperate letter requesting his company. The terrifying truth emerges when Madeline, buried alive, escapes from the vault and collapses upon her brother, causing both twins to die. As the narrator flees, the ancient mansion splits apart and sinks into the dark tarn, symbolizing the complete destruction of both the Usher family and their ancestral home. The story is a masterpiece of Gothic horror, exploring madness, isolation, fear, and the inseparable bond between family and place.
